Because of the nature of their existence, free-ranging wildlife species are prone to develop lesions on the skin and adnexa. The causes are variable, and often not identified. Examples of such conditions include burns, trauma of various causes, parasites and a wide range of microbial causes such as ulcerative pododermatitis
